I wonder is wrapping up three championships in a day , a record ??
Keith Cronin - British Rally Champion - first Irish win since Billy Coleman in 1974
Dessie Nutt - British Historic Champion (again - last was 2004)
Kris Meeke - IRC (International Rally Championship) - won in Spain today (San Remo) with one round to spare .. this is basically a world series ....... I believe for those with televisions ... (cough)... he even features in a recent Peugeot advert !

Glad for Dessie, nice bloke. Gutted I couldn't make it into the Trackrod to compete but my co-driver is on hols.

There's something in the water over there in the Emerald isle

have been following the Irish Tarmac Championship on TV and quite frankly..... they're NUTS!!!

Hope to make it over there for a rally next year in the 914.

Great day for the Irish indeed and I'm so looking forward to see Kris on the Scottish round of the IRC in a couple of months.

BTW we could have another Irish race champion next weekend if Colin Turkington can clinch the BTCC title at Brands Hatch!

And let's not forget that Adam Carroll won the A1GP for Ireland earlier in the year.

Congratulation to Colin Turkington & RAC WSR for winning the BTCC title. Three great races today all won by Jason Plato who finished second in the championship. Colin had a fantastic last race to clinch the title and even Matt Neill's dirty tricks couldn't stop him
