If you need to get to this you can pull out the fuel gauge dial and it is the tower block type unit in the there. And it just pulls out. It has a casing which with a bit of persuasion comes off revealing a solenoid and lots of contacts.

...and if you have Barry with you it can be fixed as well! :)

Hi Gary - I took the picture so I could ask someone which was the flasher unit. I was lucky - I asked uncle Barry - his answer was let's have a look.
Not content with confirming that the rectangular unit was the one, he took it apart and fixed it. What a star he is.

Hi Alan - it was a thread on Pelican that told me where it was and how to get at it. I went into my local opc today to try to get another but they do not do them. Type911 seem to have one so I will go there and get one soon. Although I will not attempt to fit it until Barry's fixed one fails.

Thank you jb not as easy as it looks obviously...without a friendly Barry to hand will a pattern 4 lug one fit or is there something " special" about the part ?

It just pulls off so you can see the pins.
Yes I think the normal one fits fine nothing special. I think I got one from type911.
It was a long time ago though.
