Moto-Lita

Post by defianty »

Worth a try...

It's my Dads birthday soon and I'd like to get him a new steering wheel for his Triumph TR6. Just had a quick looks at the Moss website and quite like the look of the Moto-Litas.

The car has a dark walnut dash fascia so I'll be looking for a match fairly close to that.

Any further recommendations of makes or places to purchase from? Anyone got anything for sale?

Thanks
Stephen

The Moto-Lita wheels are very good and probably your best bet for a wooden wheel with ease of fitment/boss availability.

Howowowow. Moto litas are quite small- i think 320 or 340 mm.

The one of the TR6 in Belgium is crap and I m thinking of putting in a nardi (360mm?) that I had in the merc.

Nardi classic ones are the bussiness!

Thanks guys.

Bert most of the Moto Litas are available from 14" up to 16" (355mm - 406mm). I think the 15" would suit but I'll smuggle a tape measure into the garage tomorrow when I see my parents and check for sure.

Quite liking this Mota Lita at the moment.

Funnily enough it's very similar to a wheel my Dad made from scratch some years ago. He's one of those guys that can do anything, sadly I missed out on a few genes

That Nardi sure is nice though Bert 8)

I think a Moto-Lita wheel will suit the TR6 best in either 15" or 16" diameter - make sure you compare Moss' price with that of buying from Moto-Lita direct.

Stephen

Try Motalita direct - nice enough bunch to deal with.

Hi
my friends TR6 has a dished moto lita with slotted spokes and a leather rim , its comfy to hold and gives good grip when hauling it out of tight spaces ans suits the car well , I like Nardi's but I think they are maybe a bit OTT for the rough and ready old TR's , Bill
