Great afternoon and evening.

Off to bed to dream of killing that Hamilton kid and the boyfriends of the other 3....

Ahem ! The one year I suggest meeting at the Scarf and Goggles...Is the one year the Scarf and Goggles isn`t at Silverstone.

Sorry Martin and anybody else that wandered round asking officials as to the whereabouts of the S&G and been sent this way and that for a bl**dy hour like we did.

I thought, in the run up to Silverstone, there`d be a dearth of early cars... not so....

All in all a wonderful day, perfect weather, for me the high points were floating around the paddock, high on a fine blend of high octane emissions and the cacophony of race tuned engines waiting to go.That and the drivers balancing their cars through Priory... what you have to do with the steering wheel of a D type to round a corner at high speed beggars belief.

It`s a strange feeling when you leave... re entering the 21st centuary and driving back up the M1 with all the silver Jap boxes. Oh and being sat between junctions 20 and 21 for 2 hours ..... Welcome back to reality.

Blimey, look at all the stripes on that car!

Great montage of shots. As you say, loads of early cars and very colourful. 8)

Oops - I started a thread in the Past Events Section.

If anyone knows how to change the posts so they transfer to here, please do so :-)

Mycar - missed you and the Scalf & Goggles - another time.

This was my favourite Porsche at Silverstone, can`t quite put my finger on it. The colour was a breath of fresh air, the stance was purposeful yet delicate, there was just a certain je ne sais quoi (or whatever the German for that is) about this lovely car.

Nice to meet you Jon (Flat 4).

Is this a 250 SWB? If so, then yes, the finest looking car at the show.

Cheers, maybe there`s a 250 SWB club like DDK , wouldn`t mind finding a fixer upper.
