Trailer!

Post by 911hillclimber »

I need a trailer, about 3.5 m long and certainly 1.9m wide.
Must be a 'good one' and willing to pay for the right condition.

Needs to have a spare/ramps/winch minimum.

Graham, some time ago I looked long and hard at the trailer market.
I eventually bought new to get the spec I wanted, very much along your llines.
I eventually bought a Fountain Trailer from Boston. Chris Fountain did me a really good deal and even built it so it would go into my garage by modifying the mudguards..
It towed really well.
It cost me less than a good second hand one.
(Just sold it!!)

Thanks for that.
At this moment, it looks like a brand new BJ trailer @ £2746 ish inc Gordon's bit.

The last thing you need is a trailer problem!

Will delve into your past supplier though.

Graham,
Web site below.
http://www.fountain-trailers.com/main_frame.html
Let me know how you get on.
I had spare wheel, centre board, tyre rack, 2m ramps, heavy duty jockey wheel, winch and tool box plus full set of tie downs for the price of a standrd BJ with no extras.
Chris used to compete himself and understood what you wanted.
Hope you find what you want.

Yes, looked already!

The BJ approach is a bit 'BMW' ;stock car has little and all the goddies are on the options list.

Same with Woodford trailers down the road from them, but in the end, when you spec 'an apple for an apple' they are only £200 adrift.

The BJ name is very powerful too!

if (and it seems likely now) we go off to live in houston. then i'll be selling our BJ trailer.

it cost us a little under £3,000 new about 3 years ago and we have had it serviced every year.

i'd have to think about what its worth now. :?

And it will be too narrow for the lola Porsche Helen!

The Lola is a very full 74'' across the rear.

My wife has sorted the trailer 'thing' for me.

Rent one until next year.(5 meetings max in 2009 after it is ready (I hope) to race.
This does (irritatingly) make a lot of sense. WHY is she always right?

no problems. that makes a lot of sense,

we have had a 997 turbo on it with no problems.....no idea how wide they are but i would guess an awful lot bigger than the 356c

Hi Graham, have you thought about using some narrow transport wheels so it will fit on Helens trailer?

Deceided to rent one for the resr of the year and buy one early next. Gives me time to go to fountain and keep some £ in the bank
