A Day with Practical Classics

Post by defianty »

Got a call from Bruce Manning late last week saying Practical Classics were after a 914 for a feature, and would I be interested... Why the hell not I thought!

A bright and early start and a 70 mile drive just North of Felixstowe to a lovely location called Shingle St.

I won't say much yet until after the publication date, but I was one of four cars in what could only be described as a rather eclectic mix

Had a great day, weather held out and the car was faultless. Only seen a few of the shots but what I did see looked fantastic, can't wait to see them and the feature. Keep a look out for the June edition guys.

A few snaps of the day.

All finished a few months ago. Ended up getting the head repaired, new seats and valves. Which lead to replacing loads of other bits and pieces, "whilst I was there" Cleaned up the whole engine area and powdercoated the tinwear. Looking much better now. Still got gearbox issues but hopefully that'll be sorted soon. Luckily it's not keeping me off the road. Been using the car a lot lately and really looking forward to a good season in it now!

Car is looking superb Stephen, looking forward to seeing the article.

Rob - I'm just going to go to the same shows as Stephen and swap the number plates over between my car and his.

 You'll be pleased to know then that I'm seriously considering adding Porsche side scripts. Watch this space.
