911 S at Coys
Hello all -
There's a red 911 S for sale at Coys - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/915767.htm
Anyone know anything about this car?
Spoke with the chap a coys who told me that the Chassis Number was 9111300522 and the engine number is 6610886.
It seems like a reasonable estimate, (within my ever decreasing budget ! ) but having never purchased anything in an auction ( other than a few things off ebay ) does anyone have any advice?
thanks all

Car I think is South African. Spoke to the owner some weeks back and I think he looks to have modified his expectations re the price.
Regards
Mike

Not cagey. Info at home and I am at work. Anyway, Andy has filled in the blank on the name I think I have. I don't think I have any info on bodywork rebuild names, just the engine. Will check later. As I recall the car was on carbs and the owner put the car back to MFI in this latest work.

Mike the car looks to have been originally imported into the UK by AFN and then sold through the AFN dealership. I wonder how it got to South Africa or when.210bhp wrote:http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/879945.htm

Ian.
looks nice. i wouldn't worry too much about the seats fabric not being "original" as long as they have been done well and are comfortable.
lots of cars were taken out to South Africa at about that time. by people being sent out there to work.

i've a question please about this car and Auction pricing in general -
This car is advertised by Coys and seperately by (presumably) the owner on PistonHeads.
Coys have an estimate of between £28k to £36k whereas the owner has it on sale for £46k - how do Coys come up with their estimates? Or does it represent the lowest price the seller has agreed to sell the car for? If so - that seems to be a massive variance - from £46k down to £28k......
