So it will be a lot easier at Shelsley next time with the Penroses in the 7.3 litre Pilbeam, Simon Bainbridge in the 4.2 litre Turbo V8 SBR Chrono, and Duncan Barnes in the 2100T Norma, will it????

It will be far more interesting Jonathan!
The next Shelsley is a BHC/Midland, so all the Heavy Hitters arrive. Surprised the Metro 6R4 isn't there too (do you have the entry list?)

I was 1.5 secs behind the Norma on race day at Prescott, and can keep ahead of the Pilbeam. Doubt anyone can live with the Chrono...

However, with some in the class the points are there to be had.

Last weekend I got 1 point for each run. If I came last but there were 2 runners I would have had 2 points for each run.
A weekend is a lot of effort for 2 points.

We shall see, usual gloom i usually have this time of the season!

Have you considered an adjustable skirt/splitter at the front to stop air getting underneath? Maybe some side fins? After the engine upgrade more down force might be the next step?

Tried the front skirt some years ago Neil, felt no difference to speed etc, just made the car a real pain to get on/off the trailer in a grassy uneven hill climb paddock.
The floor is dead flat to the rear bulkhead so that might help.

The cars have to have a minimum ground clearance static of 40mm, I'm about 2 x that.

Any lower and the car bottoms out on said paddocks.
At Shelsley I was a full 2 seconds off my PB of last year, and that sucks!

All down to state of mind.

Conditions were probably most of that. Not a dry weekend

^^^ Fabuous! ^^^

By contract to all others went to the Mill Open Day at Shelsley Walsh hill climb today in the 911.

There has been a small water mill there since about 1302 ish and lots of history and restoration to the place. Good turn-out of classics etc, nice day, local roads very busy, classics all ove the place.

Test run on the 911 before heading to The Motorist tomorrow on the DDK run out.
Gear knob came loose on the way back, all sorted now.

There is a very old country church in the hillclimb grounds usually 'out of bounds' so took a picture.

Recreating a shamelessly robbed idea...

Absolutely mobbed down there today but if you get the right angle....

(Just before Brussels the speedo cable broke and shortly after that I noticed my fuel economy significantly improved..... what a coincidence!)Image

Number 46 looks remarkably like an mgb gt hob nobbing it with the 250 gto's and 904's.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

There are a couple of Porsche hillclimbers getting married in that church on Saturday with the reception in the Hillclimb grounds afterwards.
Fingers crossed for good weather!
