180mm 356 clutch problem, solved!

some of you may remeber me asking about clutches for early cars and the general reply seemed to be just to use a bug unit. this i did and it did seem ok but after relatively few miles i've found my whopping 75hp is just too much for the little unit and it's started to slip a bit once again.

however, after asking around some more, i've found that Empi in the USA (and Bugpack) both sell uprated 180mm clutch plates for 'reasonable' money. I ordered one from SSP and it arrives next week so i'll keep you posted.

just thought it might help out other 356 engine owners that thrash theirs as hard as i do mine!

the bugpack h/d 180mm cover plate sorted the problem. no slipping, and perfect engagement - and a lot cheaper than most 356 kits, for sure.
