I was working for part of the weekend. :(
The rest of it was spent sorting through all the parts I had collected which came with the 356 I've just bought. :)

friday - shopping until lunchtime, then playing with my new iphone until bedtime!

saturday - skimmed, polished a pair of cylinder heads, replaced the valve seats, ground in new valves and replaced springs for a mate's boat. Then for fun ported out and polished up the inlet manifolds..
In the evening I packaged it all up and took a trip to my godmothers so she can deliver it back to s.france when she goes to her other home next week (lucky b**ch! ).
She made dinner which was ace as usual, although I had to lay off the wine as I was driving :(

sunday - got up about mid-day, took my neighbours kid to the family fun farm for the afternoon, then nailed a bottle of red and fell asleep on the sofa

not bad, but it was no Classic LeMans!

Nige - where did you go shooting - at a club or just out and about?

Went shooting in Derbyshire last year, can't remember the name of the club but great location and traps. Ended up getting tuition from a minor who worked there at weekends (didn't know they still had mines in Derbyshire).

i organised a pcgb clayshoot in feb. for the east midlands region.. not a bad day, about 10 turned up i think; held it at kibworth in leicestershire (google brings it up)

been shooting there for a while; good ground, nice layouts and not too expensive. cant remember the name of the place in derby but have shot there before too, very nice but a bit more expensive than kibworth (and not so central for "region 8" which ruled it out)

perhaps we need a ddk shoot when the summer gets here?!.. :albino:

We shoot at the back of my Dad's local, its farmers land that we use as a small club about 40 of us, though usually about 25-30 shoot every other weekend. Its just out of Ripley near Denby Pottery. Used to shoot alot more frequently when I was younger, my dad ran 2 open clay shoots for a few years, near Bulwell and Newstead Abbey in Notts. This was the first time I've been since January. I was trying to arrange a DDK shoot last summer, but it fell by the way side as a house move became priority. Been shooting clays since I was 11 (I'm 35 in two weeks), always with a 12 bore, I'm a big lad so never bothered with smaller gauges. Still use the same gun I had when I was 13.
