Hi folks, I am finally getting around to some preventative stuff for the hollow sections in my C. Not planning on any use in the rain if I can help it, but you know how predictable scottish weather is..

I am going to start with injecting waste oil, and then something a bit thicker like tetrosyl to stick to the upper sections.

In terms of where to stick me tubes in, so far I have found..
-small unplugged drain holes at the base of the 4 chassis 'legs' extending fore and aft of the main tub
-unplugged holes along each longitudinal
-plugged holes in each door

I think I am also going to get the whole structure sprayed with waste oil underneath (flame at will!) because its such loverly stuff for getting into crevices..

I'm sure there are other box sections to get into- can anyone give me a list of where to inject that I havent found already?

I bought a whole load of Ditrinol from 'Frost' - they do a kit with all the various different waxes for different areas - bout £80 - I think.

Dont know the conversion to Groats but I'm sure its a good investment

Its all very true..but nothing creeps into the tightest crannies like oil. Anything thicker than basic oil is too thick. I could stretch to new oil, I suppose ...although apparently used diesel engine oil is just about the perfect consistency.

I dont want to spray in some thick waxy stuff that'll just sit on top of any layers of leaves of rust - which lets face it, there is probably a little of here and there in the dark internal corners of the car.. I know there are thinner variants than the basic wax, which I'll have to grit my teeth and purchase, but a bit of oil is needed too i.m.o.

Ive seen the frost kit - looks quite good, with free plugs too!

I can see where your coming from tho i think a liquid will seep in and have a capillary action - the thinner the liquid the higher it'll climb?

I'll stick to the frost kit as mines got loads of new metal - I'll have plenty of spare plugs - will post half up if you want em
