Hi all, can anyone tell me the depth the flywheeel must be to except a 200mm VW clutch. I wish to get my 180mm flywheel machined out.

Hi Dave
I had my flywheel machined recently to take a 200 mm clutch I also had the out side profile machined to match a super 90 which saves a bit of weight but not too much to loose torque.Claren tooling in Boscombe did the work for £70.
I will dig it out as I have not put this engine together yet and post the dimensions you need.
Cheers Nigel

Hi Dave
The dimensions you need are:

The outer ring depth for the cover plate = 4.5mm
From the bottom of the cover plate face above( i.e 4.5 mm down) to clutch running face=21.3mm

Hope this is OK let me know if you need any more info.

Best regards Nige

Nige, My kennedy pressure plate has a round piece in the centre on the finger spring bits that my old Sache pressure plate did not have. Do I have this removed? Also I have a C gear box, which throw bearing is best?

I have a measurement of 21.5 from Duane Spencer book?

Much thanks.
