track insurance for CLM parade laps
hi all,
Anyone have any ideas for track insurance for CLM. My usual "Competition Car Insurance" can't do cover for Europe at the moment. My Insurers, Footman James, don't offer it either and since I park mine on the street I can't go with AON.
Any suggestion folks?
cheers
mike

Drive REALLY carefully!
Seriously, this is what put me off driving round. I drove Spa last year with no insurance - I'd tried to get it but had no joy anywhere - the only one-off cover I could get was in the UK. I think I actually got come cover with a 20K excess and it was going to cost about £500 for one day. I graciously declined.....
They say you've got to have the insurance - they may well not check and it's just a bum-covering exercise

I think it's either one of those things where if something happens they can say 'we told you to sort this out' OR they could stand trackside and insist on checking it before they go out.
I know NOTHING about the layout, circumstances, etc but these sort of things can be lead by external pressures - e.g. the gods of health and safety - maybe a condition on their own liability insurance.
I'm honestly not trying to scaremonger - I drove Spa last year without insurance

Mike, have a word with your insurers & explain you are doing a PARADE LAP of LeMans 24 hour circuit & it is probabally behind a pace car .... emphasise it is NOT a track day or track laps.
If they understand it is an officially organised PARADE lap they might give you the thumbs up
I assume you have got european insurance cover sorted out so you can drive you car in France anyway ?

Yeah it was the insurance issue that stopped it for me.. I just wounder how many UK cars will be on the track this time?
Shame I was really wanting to do it this year as I only want to do it once
so if I can't get this sorted can I hitch a lift with some one?
I didn't get a seat last time so would love to hold the camera for some one intheir car..

I have just emailed the French club saying how much we did struggle to get cover in the UK and esp with such short notice. I now have the cover ( will do when i go back with AON and do the same as Nick )
