After begining to miss my old tangerine 911T sold on this forum last year I was tempted to buy this 1970 2.2S in January.

It was in a bit of a sorry state and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for 10 years. The car felt unloved and undriven for a heck of a long time.
It had been converted to look like a RS lightweight back in the 1980's and was in a state of neglect.

But looking on the bright side it did have a recent engine and gearbox rebuild and was a confirmed matching numbers car that left the factory painted signal orange.
After 2 days of elbow grease and half a bottle of T-Cut with a serious dose of chrome cleaner the old girl started to shine !

Then a magic wand was waved by Dave Broughton at 911 Classic. The suspect brakes were corrected and with a bit of expert fettling the old girl now has a spring to her step. Wind her past 5000 RPM and the spring is truly sprung ! Blimey she's off like a rocket !
Still room for improvement but just shows that old cars are like people - they perform best when they are appreciated !

Looking good :)

It's nice when the application of elbow grease alone can transform a car!

I remember seeing this car a few years ago for sale at Chelsea Cars, Wandsworth. At least I think it was this car as I wouldn't forget the interior!

Looks great

Sorry Alan the vin number won't help your records because it was first registered as a LHD car for the German market. It was apparently professionally converted to RHD when it was imported into the UK in the late seventies.

Yes Bootsy I am sure you are correct. The back window has a sticker that clearly states Chelsea Cars London.
