Hello everyone,

Ever since hearing Mike Usiskin's 911T screamer, I have been comparing exhausts. Mike's, so I understood, is a modified M&K so that it has a side exit (the standard one) plus the two centre ones, which can be capped. I really really like the metallic tone of its scream and more importantly the gurgling when lifting the accelerator.

On my journeys I listened to the Turbo thomas, the M&K in various guises, the B and B, the Ruf SCR exhaust etc but the sound I'm really after is what I hear here.

Apparently it is a replica of the 911R exhaust by Sycip, and the shows it under a 74 carrera IB. I presume that for the later K-jet engines it is a case of longer exhaust studs (btw I want to backdate my heating as well).

Anyone any experience of Sycip?
Anyone any idea of the db rating? I'd like to be around the 105 db at 4000 rpm max.
Anyone any experience with this firm: purchasing, delivery etc.
Anyone knows whether this can also be toned down- track days/ball and chain complaints/sisters who can hear a bug caugh and have too sensible ears?

Thanks in advance,

Bert

I don't have any personal experience of their 'silencer' (although I have heard only positive comments from several guys in the States that have them) but I have done business with Jon & Jay Sycip a number of times.

They are excellent guys to deal with - prompt response & shipping plus excellent products.

Also interested in the triple outlet muffler, but also need to be able to keep it quiet for track days etc. where needed.

More Sycip on youtube :-

Thank you Andy for your response. I suppose that I'm just going to order one of those together with a set of SSI's and see how it pans out, noise wise and all that.

Ian, if you want to have a go with it once it is here and, more importantly when my car is ready -whenever that might be and by which miracle that might be facilitated-, we can meet up and test it with Rick Simpson's noise meter?
