I need to know more!

Post by Tilmor »

I am a new boy to the world of early 911s and I want to read up more on specs of different early models upto 1980, could you recommend any good titles for my reading list, I am trying to avoid coffee table books.
thanks Jim

I found the Paul Frere book "The 911 story" fascinating.

Its a good read on the development of the 911 from the word go.

Just received the Peter Morgan and the Paul Frere books, thanks for the suggestions. I have just ordered the Porsche restorers authenticity- can't wait, in the meantime have looked up the price of the Ludvigsen book, is that right £150? wow!!
Thanks again for taking the time.

Yes £150 for the latest edition (second edition which does come in three large volumes rather than the single volume first edition).

Picked up a copy a couple of years ago and still reading it. Fascinatingly detailed book on every aspect of the Porsche motor company history.

Buying, Driving and Enjoying the Porsche 911 by James Schrager arrived today from Amazon.

The Lassie from Lancashire mentioned it and it`s an excellent read

Nice bit on page thirteen:- `The best way to really understand a 911 is to have a good friend, brother or farther introduce you to the charms of this unusual machine`

How nice it must be to have BurmaShave as your brother :)
