hi my engine case number is 752356 /en i got 102276 is my engine a 912 one ???? or is it a 356 ???

had it in for rebuilt think it still was 912 1600 lump seem it got 1720cc big bore on it
am after a 1720cc piston and rings if you no off any :)

As phone call I would keep that engine you have, look to get a VW unit in the car to keep it going. Then you can look in to and investigate the engine you have. To look to rebuild the motor to what you want.

buying that 356 engine for a £1000 and give him your old one is not a good move I feel but its up to you.

the engine case number dates it to around August 66

As Mark says, you'd probably be better keeping the engine you have and putting the cash towards having it rebuilt (not that it's likely to be rebuilt properly for anything as little as a grand!)

My 912 has no engine number...
