Well, here she is in her new life…………………. I’ll leave these here just to round off this thread. It was a wonderful ownership journey and I’m so lucky to have owned one of the best 911’s on the planet.

I know I was one of the people who said you should return it at some stage back to Chartreuse but, although I'm a big fan of Chartreuse (particularly on an RS), ...

I actually prefer it in black !! (which, having been the car's colour since 1974, is how everyone will remember it).

Wonderful car having been used extensively as intended.

It does look wonderful in Chartreuse but doesn't seem like your car anymore Mike - which as it no longer is maybe is a fitting end to your story with it?

Great ‘ending’ to the journey with your car Mike. I think it would look more complete with the side graphics, but I’m with Andy and Bootsy .. kind of suited patina black .

Had so many great times with that car … you must be ready for some new memories to be made with a new car

Certainly a “next chapter” moment for the car.

Squeaky clean resto was always on the cards I guess, but it would have been nice if they had just kept that “original” dealership sticker in the rear window ;-)

You had lots of fun in it, I hope the new owner appreciates that.

There is a different philosophy about restoration in the US.
Original seats and headrests gone in favour of brand new pepita and vinyl.

Looked great in black and looks equally good in Chartreuse.

What a fabulous experience, I always like a happy ending!

Nice conclusion Mike. Black is your car, Chartreuse is the next owners. Keep the great memories.

Sounds right to me. Great car, and hopefully a great experience owning it.
On to the next, Mike? Or are you simplifying the collection?

Best, Richard.

Remember that evening so well Tom, and that cracking photo.
It’s a fairly happy ending Feroz, bitter/sweet in many ways but glad to have had the experience.
Gary, who could forget that drive home from CLM. One of my favourite drives with the car because of the company and two of my favourite pictures of all time to boot. Special personal memories.
I think that’s perfect Rich. A great summary.
Not sure yet Richard, an early lwb 911 is special and always in my blood from being a teenager. Don’t think I could top my ownership experience with the RS but if something catches my eye………? ??? You never know.

Mike
