Andy,

I'd be interested to know more about your G50 conversion and any more photo's would be welcome.

Thx

Have loads of pictures, essentially rear end modified to take heavy duty springs and shocks, some fancy adjustable spring plates from Elephant racing. All other parts from Chris Flavel to join G50 to 993 engine at Fenn Lane motor sport and all the work carried out by David Barnett at Classic Autosports in Scotland. PMO carbs from the States (nearly half the price with the currency exchange)

Car was a 69T Californian import bought from ebay, with the exception of the front drivers floor round the pedal box which had to be replaced was in fantastic condition. Should go like a rocket as the 993 in standard form is good for 260bhp plus I guess, and since we have lost 30% of the engine externals and added the PMOs I'm hoping after some fiddling to get near 300bhp but perhaps I'm dreaming, any ways its going to have at least twice the horsepower from the original!!!!

If any one else is running a 993 engined thingy, would love to know the BHP you have got and how?

Andy,

I've got a 993 / 915 set-up in my 911SC which was installed and chipped by 9m in Warrington. Bottom end is late Variocam (bigger valves) and it has a plastic NVR induction system. The 9m rolling road exceeded 300 hp and it easily pulls the 915 box into the red line (off the speedo) as testified during a recent autobahn run to the Ring in pursuit of Matteo's (911teo) Ford GT.

The 915 box continues to fustrate me and I will eventually install a G50 6 speed when funds permit together with a set of 3.8 RS P&C's and TWM ITB's that I have stashed away in the loft.

In the meantime, I'm awaiting the arrival of a set of Lindsey 9"/11" Fuchs, then the Gulf Blue (sorry - I've been planning this colour for years) 73 RSR backdate will commence using all the other pre-73 bits (including steel RSR flares) that I've collected over the previous two years.

Once this is all concluded your car will have an 'evil twin' and I may be working towards an early divorce.
