Hi and nice to see another RS owner on DDK. Your car is stunning in those pictures and look forward to seeing it in the flesh. I agree the safety colours do look good on the RS. Mine is black but was originally chartreuse.
I hope you enjoy DDK. I noticd you were looking to trace some history of your car on another thread. If I can help in any way please let me know. There are others on here who will give you great advice also on any aspect of your car.
How about bringing it to Classic Le Mans next year? It a great way to meet everyone and a fantastic drive down and back. Check out the past events section for pics/chat about the last CLM. Then if you check future events you will see the details for next years events.
Enjoy the car. It looks fabulous!
Regards
Mike

I have the full history of the car in the UK and will be following up with the contacts kindly provided on this site, nothing urgent but it'll be nice to have some colour of its life in mainland Europe.
As for CLM, its definitely on my list of things to do, but I will be taking a week away from work and a very young family to compete in the Three Castles Rally in June, so that will use up all my goodwill credits.
However, I look forward to hooking up with DDKer's at events in the UK this year..

Keep an eye out for our Wales bash next year. Would be great to see your car in the flesh and driven in angerelkelk wrote:As for CLM, its definitely on my list of things to do, but I will be taking a week away from work and a very young family to compete in the Three Castles Rally in June, so that will use up all my goodwill credits.

My background on-track is on 2 wheels, although my father was a rallycross guy in the 70's. Although the RS is a little expensive these days, I think we owe it to the designers to get the wind in the knickers of these cars!
I am looking forward to seeing Wales in all its glory in June and will keep hold of the Tulip maps for those who want to explore the area at their leisure.
Mike, where abouts in Scotland are you, i have done a fair few miles up their on 2 wheels in my youth...?

Apologies, I just returned to have another look at the pics of your stunning car and realised I did not see your question in the last post until tonight.
I am in Ayrshire on the west coast 100yards from the sea. The road from Stranraer to Ayr is one of the best in Southern Scotland, maybe you have ridden it?
Do you mind if I ask the chassis number of your RS.
Regards

Hi Mike, mine is chassis 911.360.1295, engine 6631264, gearbox 0932, matching numbers car. Originally supplied West Germany, then imported into France, but tracing its European history is on my list of jobs to do. The car has been inspected by some prominent specialists since arriving in the UK and has a stack of bills from its time here in the last 10 years, and this gave me the confidence to take the plunge. Frankly, once i saw the car returned to its original colour there was only going to be one outcome. You're a long time dead, as they say in Ireland.
Oban is the furthest South i have been on the West coast, some fantastic roads all the way along that coast, i remember a great ride along the A830 to Mallaig to catch the ferry to Skye one day, followed by two very fast loops in the evening starting and finishing in Portree. I remember the Guinness too
Any pictures/details on your car on this site?
regards
Gavin
