About six years ago I noticed a Rolex Datejust 16233 on a guys wrist whilst being served in an automotive supplies dealer. When I asked him about it, he said he had owned it over 10 years and wore it every day. He let me have a look at it and I said if he were to ever want to sell it, give me a ring.
Out of the blue, six years later, I got the call. It’s now away being serviced etc by a Rolex specialist.
Would Love to see photos when back 8)
I’ve never posted a photo on DDK, I’m sure I can learn.

I’ll be seeing the new year in with this wonderful Autavia 2446C with it’s naturally aged ghosted bezel and aged dial

Have a good one and here’s to a healthy and happy 2023

A pleasure - it's a stunning example. One of the best I've seen.

I've recently acquired a watch that I don't know much about.

I like it very much and I wear it almost daily, but I don't know much about it. It clearly has a Porsche link.

Who can tell me more about this watch?

Hi All
Just a quick question, would anyone here be able to make a rough guess at the value of a TAG Monaco (Auto) from the mid noughties?
It's boxed with papers, in great condition, was fully serviced in August last year (bill available) and a new blue Alligator strap was fitted at that time.
Asking for a friend, any info greatly received...

I can post pics if that helps but for now I'm only after a rough idea what he should be asking for it.

All the best
Ian F.

I can tell you it had a Valjoux 7750 auto
Movement

Around the late 70s and into the 80s you’ll find many similar watches in these sort of cases with various dials

Similar to Heuer Montreals / Pasadena’s and many other brands

Sure with a bit of reading I can find more about the dial and where it would have originated from

Nice watch!

@Bootsy:

It looks like the central (chronograph) second hand originally was orange. The (possibly faded) orange has been painted white later.
Can that hand be repainted orange again, or is that not advisable?
