What's this 20 degree brake piston alignment all about?

I have to say I'm completely stumped, maybe it'll be obvious once I come to do it but reading the rebuild guides advice about the 20 degree angle doesn't make any sense to me - what is at 20 degrees?

AS far as I can see, my piston has no markings on it, and nothing to stop it rotating and the caaliper itself cannot be adjusted can it?

Someone shut my big dumb mouth and tell me whats up.

the pistons on my 73S, have the 'step' in them as shown in all the manuals. This step has to be at 20 deg to the horizontal. If I'm correct this helps prevent brake pad 'squeel'.

Have you7 got 101 projects book?
