Re: My new project.........
Hi Darren, never got round to it in the end, but I've got a feeling Neil did with a different engine, I'll try to find out for you.
Good luck with your engine build, but I wouldn't recommend referring back to this one too much if I were you, not unless
you've had a lottery win of course!

The differences in power output with/without filters is nothing to do with my plans, just made me curious when reading through your EarlyS thread.
Thinking the Mongrel build could in any way emulate this RSR would be like comparing the Premier league with the Hackney Marshes!
However still a thread that provides much inspiration..….I'm going with black door shuts as well you know!
Cheers,
Darren

Hi Sean, thanks so much for enduring the thread through to the end, and yes sadly now with a new owner but still close at hand
and involved, in fact spent the morning with it today!
There's a flipbook here with the best pictures for anyone interested, go to the link and click on the 'click to read' in the centre
of the screen, will take a minute or two to load then flip though the pages.

Re: My new project.........
Mike, would be very interested if you made a limited number of hard copies of the flipbook. How many would you have to produce to make it viable?Mike wrote:There's a flipbook here with the best pictures for anyone interested, go to the link and click on the 'click to read' in the centreNick Moss wrote:Take it easy on him, he's a Targa driver

Exquisite Mike. Remind me again - why the black gaffs tape by the front wheel arch?

Hi Dougie, you have to do loads to get any significant discounts and even then it's not that much so not really worth it.brembo wrote:How many would you have to produce to make it viable?
A large format is around 60 quid a go on decent paper, so really just only worth doing one or two for the owner and builder!
As the original Mark, looks like duck tape of some sort. I've always suspected the flares were fibreglass as it's a prototypesladey wrote:Remind me again - why the black gaffs tape by the front wheel arch?
so perhaps covering a stress crack or rip, it's pretty vulnerable there.
cheers, Mike.

Re: My new project.........
Just as a postscript to this - if you love this thread then I think you'll enjoy one over on Pelican Parts
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche- ... oject.html
Started out as a RSR-a-like with modern components and part way through changed to a much more faithful replica of the Mary Stuart car, involving fascinating engineering and quite a bit of 3D printing. Work being carried out by Keith at Zuffenhaus.
Worth a read (it's still in progress) and I've also pointed Keith to this thread
Whilst doing that I've started re-reading this thread all over again - currently reading page 50 and still really enjoying it....
