The aluminium trim is glued to the dash - After 40 years, the glue tends to become brittle, and with some gentle prying the trim usually comes away.

The ali trim is very thin though - You need to be very careful not to crease it in the process.

The knee pad is a straight forward spanner job. If you put your hand up underneath the pad, you'll be able to feel some nuts holding it on. Undo these and it'll come away.

Can you get replacement trim for the dash? Mine is badly scratched in a couple of places and has been butchered for the radio fitting as well. My knee pad is completely missing though - presumably this will be a case of scouring ads to find a second hand one?
