Warning of Parts Scam and new sellers of high value items

Post by 912uk »

Can we make this a sticky

It has been noted that on a number of other forums there is a scam artist working his way round the forums..

Suddenly the world of rare and expensive parts are found in his lock up garage and how much he needs to sell them quick to make room, for the sake of his relationship with his missis..

He only takes paypal and these rare parts are bargain or even not bargain prices are not to be missed..

Guys we know our stuff on these parts and we also know the world is too small.. be careful and if needed ask another member in the area to check it out for you, esp for high value items.. Giving some member a £5 for pint and petrol is better than losing £300-500+ on parts that don't exsist..

If it feels wrong then it is..take care

Here are some details from other automotive interest forums regarding this individual. From what I can gather the Scammer has hit Ford, Opel, Vauxhall, landrover, VW and several other forums.

He was sent a formal warning via the forum the other week and hasn't posted anything since. It raised his trader status and referenced his bad reputation on other forums

I'm inclined to delete his account and this all his adverts

Likewise. I'm surprised he has continued to post items as I'm sure no one here was paying those prices...

I've thought for a while his posts are in the nature of spam - doesn't contribute to the forum but floods us with stuff for sale. I seem to remember someone had tried to contact him about a part but he wasn't responding. Seems an odd way to do business

Sorry, but there's no way on earth that engine ad is genuine! Admire his sense of humour, though.
