Hi Steve...

Thanks for rubbing it in!!

Only joking... Thanks for the info... it's nice to know I'm looking for the right colour... I started having doubts!!

I don't suppose you could post up a picture of your engine so I can have a look... what colour is your oil filter?

All the best

Hi Ruby

Heres a photo of my engine - its not a good pic - too much dust :( - the enging is out at the moment - I've got a better camera now - will take a couple of better shots and post in the next few days.

Oil filter is silver.

Steve

Thanks for that...

That's just how mine looked about three weeks ago... now it's stripped and in a zillion pieces... gulp!!

Yeh my oil filter is silver too... I read somewhere that it should be the same colour as the fan housing... but every one I've looked at is silver so it's probably rubbish speak!!

I used a very dull silver on my oil cannister.............

when I say dull its almost a gray, the metal flakes are minimal.

Thanks for that... I was thinking that bright silver might be a bit too much!!

Everyone seems to have their engines out at the moment... is it that time of year!!

fan housing colour?

Post by RubyRed65 »

Hi Rustbucket...

Sad isn't it... seeing your poor old 356 like the tin man (without his heart)!!

I lent my digital camera to a friend and haven't seen it again unfortunately so I'm back to the old fashioned method of boots processing unit... will put up some pictures if I ever get round to taking it in!!

All the best

SNAP!
I have a 1962 RHD super coupe as well. I don't know if the fan housing has been repainted (probably has) on mine but it is a sort of silver grey. Let me know if you want pictures.
I am off to Germany tonight so won't be able to post any photos until next week. :)
