2007 DDK Technical Masterclass @ MB engineering

Post by hot66 »

Very kindly Mike Bainbridge has offered to run a number of free masterclass’s exclusively for the DDK at his workshop in the Lake District. For those that don’t know of Mike please have a look at his website www.mbporsche-engineering.co.uk . It is very rare for anyone with Mikes experience to open up his doors and offer a hands on practical learning experience like this. If you have an interest in teh mechanical workings of your Porsche these will be invaluable.

Due to the nature of a workshop based masterclass with hands-on participation, numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 people per masterclass.

At this stage we have planned 2 masterclasses. I have given a very brief description of what will be covered. Exact dates are still to be confirmed but I have given you an idea of when they are to be held. They will be held on weekends.

28th April – Introduction to Porsche 911 engine servicing – 1 day event

A hands-on introduction to the Porsche flat 6 engine and a look at some of the service procedures including tappet adjustment etc.

30th June & 1st July 2007 – Porsche 911 engine top-end rebuild – 2 day event

An in-depth and hands on look at a top-end rebuild of a Porsche flat 6 engine. Will cover all top-end rebuild work including cam timing, cylinder heads etc.

Plan will be to stay overnight locally for the 2 day event.

As mentioned earlier, these masterclasses have only a small number of available places. BUT don’t worry if all the spaces are full. Mike has many suggestions for masterclasses in the future including gearbox rebuilds and one especially for you 914 owners, a master class on the rebuilding of the type4 engine.

If you want to attend either or both of the planned events please post below. It will be on a 1st come basis.

Probably full by now but if there's a space on the first one I'd like to attend James.

Thanks

I'll leave the currently scheduled workshops to the people with 6 cylinders, but please please please put me first in line for the proposed 914 / type4 event(s).

Nice work James. If there's room on the first event I'd love to attend that.
