Hi,
Looks good. Are you changing the front wings or just adding the indicator section to the originals with a small fabricated side section?

I look forward to following how you get on as there is a small chance I will be doing a back date next year, using a RHD 85 3.2.

There is somewhat of a stygma attached to GRP front wings, especially on an RS as the factory never fitted them. The quality is rather varianble and fit can be a problem, so many shy away from them for a road car. For a trackday or racecar they are more desirable. What are other people's opinions?are GRP wings not the done thing then?

Nick, I think Chris has already sourced the wings (I HOPE!!)
Sladey, I've sold the number plate off the car and unluckily for me they want to inspect it - still waiting for the inspector from 3rd Nov , which will hopefully be 27th Dec.....
more pics to follow early Jan after acid dip with before and after repairs

GRP represents a substantial weight saving and an end to worry about rusting up against the joining plates. These days it should be possible to turn out a decent finish in glass so it is really down to authenticity.scotal wrote:Stupid question probably, but are GRP wings not the done thing then?
I have opted for GRP on my next car - I can always fit steel again afterwards if the quality is lacking.....................

I had heard about the GRP wings. I think Even Miggs had a few problems with his on his 912R project he did..
It's all about the fitting and how you do it.. I had a go with one once and could see anumber of area's where you would need to do more work to them.. I don't doubt that there are good and bad GRP wings out there.

Barry put GRP wings on his previous 911 resto, so I'm sure he'll have a view on this....
