Zentrum built the engine didn't they? Do they know what they're doing with flat 4's ?

If you go back to the start of this thread & read through it again, you realise how much you've both achieved with this car in quite a short period of time :) . Even with problems like this, don't forget how far you've come :) Chin up & all that ;)

what was knackered with the piston? I'm assuming it was fine when fitted ( about 100 miles ago).

We refitted a piston that had a small chunk missing from the skirt. We thought it would be ok.

Seems not! Witness marks indicated the piston is not moving as it should. No damage done, but needs fixing.

So a replacement is awaited. PRS helping out hopefully.

well there is no way the 356 is making it to Denmark Now. at least that is what i thought untill a phone call from Andy Prill who said if we can get the car down to him he will lend us an engine. :P

needless to say we collected the car from (a none to pleased) Zentrum (sorry mike) in North Nottinhamshire and headed down the A1 for Castle Hedingham.
very glad we did though as Andy Prill and his team staight away spotting a few (well actually... a lot)other problems with the engine. i feel alot more confident now that we'll end up with a reliable engine.

i know its going to hurt the bank account but, what the hell. who needs a house anyway

Sorry for your engine problems, at least you will still be able to go to the international though. Am hoping mine will be OK, am having problems finding some of the engine parts.
I put them in a safe place somewhere.........
