Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself my name is Adam and I have just purchased a 911T 1973. This weekend I intend to go for a few miles to get use to it since this is my first time, but before I do anything I want to give the car a service so can anybody recommend good quality mineral oil.
Saturday is going to be a nice day...

hi and welcome to DDK, what part of the country are you in?
take a look in the tecnical section of the forum...(near the bottom of the home page)i'm sure oil was discussed before. if not then best place to ask is in the 911 section.
tell us some more about your car is it a 2.2 or a 2.4?

Welcome Adam....I use good old fashioned Castrol GTX 10/40 (think)
But for every oil type you'll find someone who swears by it.....but Helen is right, this has been discussed many times.
Look forward to seeing piccies of the car

Thanks Viv for the information, Well some information on my porsche, it a 2.4 in silver with the porsche decals on the side with black leather interior. I picked the car last week from Germany and drove 350 miles from Cologne to London with a great big smile on my face. One of the funiest moments of the trip was at french customs when the guy ask me if this was a "new" car my first reaction was to say what do you think ??, but like all "power crazy" customs officer (French) I just said well its a 1973 model....
Now I waiting for a nice day to go for a drive.
As for pictures I will post them soon.
