So, what should I do?

It might seem crazy to have bought a wreck and not know what to do with it but I'll admit I'm not sure which direction to go in.

So, your help please. I've now got a '72 E shell.

But, what can I do with it?
Do I restore it back to standard? Back to black?
Or another colour?
Does originality matter (it's not 'matching numbers' anyway).

Is it worth more standard? Or do I resign myself to the reality that I'll not get my money back on a project like this. And, financially, do I care really anyway. Should I be sensible or reckless?

Black is good. Black looks nice (contrasted with the chrome).
'Could look like this...

Or maybe something a bit different?
What about something a little more extreme?

My family says "back to original".
But.... It could be 'hot-rodded'.
I like Andy's Lightweight, Bootsy's Hot Rod, Mike's RS.
I like 'em all.
I really like this:

You know my answer.

You've got one of the best stock 911s in the country so why not have a bit of fun and let your imagination run wild!

This rocks!

I buy thousands of car magazines.
And I throw them all away when I've read them.
But... I've kept a copy of Excellence from 1998 with an article on this car.

I always kind of think that if you have a pretty original car, it's nice to keep it as original as possible. But when you have such a 'project' I think it gives you a license go whichever way you please....

ps - you must be mad!!

If you have another restored stock car you'll be technically classed as a museum, and have to open your house to the public.

Hot Rod it - deffo!

I like the black - in fact a love all the pics posted so far.

I had it in my head from the start that you would do an RS clone with the shell..

So if you want to be different look out some old books and do some custom work instead..
