Turning you porsche over for restoration ?

Post by Quick912 »

Im wanting to be able to turn my porsche over for some serious welding/cutting. Has anyone done this - mine will be the bare shell.

If so how did you do it - do you have pictures of the contraption you built in order to do this ?

Im aware that you can buy a trolley powered by your drill or similar but would rather not have to spend that sort of money.

Or has anyone ideas they havent put into practice yet - perhaps we could all put our heads together and come up with a solution :?:

thinking deeply........................

Quick912,

Try this:

The application of seven times the amount of force available at A
directly to the immovable object B
in a trajectory reverse arc onto padded mattress-type item C
should achieve the required angle of inverse to conveniently approach your weld repairs or fabrication as required.

See below:

NIck-
Quick question- how did you raise the car that high to mount it to the stand ?
is there a a central bar running down the middle, or does it just come in two seperate halfs ?
Nice idea, seen em in the states.....

You can lift (just) one end of a bare shell by yourself. I also have a trolley that the shell sits on, its about the same height as the spit so its easy to swap between the 2.

wow-
So has anybody used one of these body rollers to flip the car to do a whole floor pan? I was always worried that without it being on the floor, on all four wheels, it would be impossible to make sure the shell didnt twist? or take reliable measurements?
