Porsche rally

Post by WJ »

Hi.
New to this forum business. Interesting to read some of the comments.
I am in the process of converting a 2.4T into a rally car. It would be useful to have advise on areas to strengthen.

Hi welcome to DDK.
ask your question in the 911 section, there are several members there who will be able to give you advise about this subject...raising suspenssion, stiffing struts, roll cages, where and how to fit/anchour harnesses.

Richard Tuthill made my 65 into a stage rally car which I am delighted with. The car is very very strong after his guys strengthened the chasis etc . it has been faultless since being bult at the start of the year.
Tuthil seem to have a reputation for being expensive but I think its unfounded and you get what you pay for. Plus when you start doing rally's it works out at about 12-1500 per event with tyres and entry etc so the last thing you want is a crap car that breaks down after the first stage and then you have written off all your prep time and money to enter. I would give him a call as he is more than willing to fit in with how you want to workk. im sure you could just use him to strenghten the chasis and put the roll bar in (his fit very, well dont waste your money on a shite bolt in one !!) then rebuild the car your self afterwards if you want to???

Nick Moss has prepared Rally cars for customers. Check out his site http://www.early911.co.uk/index.html

Also check out this article on Duel http://www.duel.nl/bestanden/Duel.pdf

Has also been discussed on Pelican http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthre ... rally+prep

Good luck and don't forget to post some photos of your progress :)
