3.6L conversion?

Post by davidppp »

Hello all.

I still have two engines, and two transaxles, here.

I'm sure one of you has worked out the economics of fitting these rather than a (properly)rebuilt early engine..

Engine 1.
newly built for a Hong Kong-based racer, by Richard Longman Racing Engines, to blueprinted stock specs..work to the ports and throats etc..

This is a short engine and i would like 3,500 for it

Engine 2. This is a stock low milage engine, which I have partly stripped to check condition, and would plan to hot -rod if I keep it..(by which I mean cams and ports, and induction and exhaust..340 plus bhp)

As is, I'd like 2000 for this one.

I have all the parts to build either engine up fully to stcock spec, for 800 gbp

I also have some conversion parts....

I have an LSD five-speed G50 box, for 2000, and a Boxter 6 speeder for 1200..

Kind regards
David

David,

These are 964 engines right? Do they have the twin dizzy's and all the induction and other gubbins I would need to fit this engine in place of my 3.2?

I imagine I'd need a new wiring loom aswell.

Just thinking about the economics of this car for my car.

hello Dyno.

Yes, all the gubbins are available in the 800 package..

But you would likely ditch some of it..the exhaust for example..

Or....

PMO make a specific, very comprehensive kit for these engines...

http://www.pmocarb.com/products.htm

The 46 or 50mm PMO's fit straight onto the special tall manifolds, just bolt on and go..very fast..

Personally, I'd fit crankfire ignition for the twin plugs, but I do know for a spare 3.6 twin dizzy..

Kind regards

Hey David,

Sorry for the late reply... seems as this conversion will cost me a fair amount. I'll have to pass although it would be a great addition to my car.

Thanks forthe info..

Still here.

This is half the costs of a proper rebuild on a stock early motor.

It is possible to dress these to look very like early engines.
But with better relaibility and power and economy of course.

Kind regards
David
