914 nearside rear caliper needed

Post by kevster »

the 914 failed the mot today but not too bad - mostly small stuff but the nearside caliper failed. Anyone got a spare caliper? (74 2.0).

If not i'll trawl the forums as I know there has been a few postings on this, I think theres somewhere up north that does exchanges. It looks like it isnt that old but obviously not brilliant quality.

(sorry for the double posting.. 8) )

Why not have a 'recon and return' done on your original? I am just having all mine done for the 911 - very reasonable prices, will let you have the number if you wish

Got a couple of numbers of companies who do them - the one I am using is R and J Ltd. - 01302 890777 , usually back following day.

The other one is a company called Andrew Page ltd. - got a number of depots , mainly northern, worth a call - 01302 886611

i ended up ordering one from roger bray as although a bit expensive instead of rebuilding mine they send me a recon one first and i can send mine back for exchange, im on a tight timescale. I dont really want my one back as its got a dodgy handbrake mech and spring.

Andrew page co were helpful though and if i wasnt in a hurry would probably have used them.

thanks for the info..

Kevster

Just Interested in what price did Andrew Page quoted you and was it outright or exchange?

Cheers

he quoted me £105 exchange - I think that was to rebuild mine but turnaround was quite quick.
