While you were all at LeMans..

I have seen the pictures and it looks like you all had a brilliant time, must say I was a bit green at first but I soon got over it.
Most of you know I was getting married and honeymooning in France, thought I’d share a few pictures. We drove 3800 km’s in total, the car behaved well and did not complain once. Used 2 litres of oil, a lot of it I guess is from a leak. I Havent counted up the fuel costs yet, but I know it’s going to be A LOT
. Think I have a few jobs to do now were back, it appears one of the gearbox oil seals has gone as I’ve seen gearbox oil spots after parking, havent investigated any further than a look underneath yet, it’ll be an engine and box out job though .
We’ve had an amazing 2 weeks. Driving through France with my wife at my side on some of the most stunning roads I’ve ever driven taking in the scenery has been awesome.
I’ll try not to go on too much but there were so many highlights, here are a few pictures of just some of the good drives.
We’re heading south here from Grenoble for the hills on the N75 a cool road that goes into a valley, over a few mountains then winds through a gorge with a stream next to it, my first taste of alpine roads was just 15 mins away and boy did I enjoy it

Stopped over at a surreal place called Roussillon. Great views of Mount Ventoux from there and the whole place is built around an old Ochre mine, it was like being on Mars for a few days.
Gorges-du verdon, France’s answer to the grand canyon, 800 metres high with seemingly nothing to stop you driving off the edge, not for the faint hearted this one

My GOLD medal drive. The D2205 up through the Tinee Valley, about 45mins drive up the valley to St. Etienne de-Tinee, due to the rock formation actually feels like you’re driving downhill, quite strange, this road was awesome for a D road, long fast corners, lot’s of short twisty ones, and you can see around a lot of them as you are right next to the gorge. As for coming back down the valley, all I can say is that it was just incredible .
SILVER medal drive, the N85 (Route Napoleon) into Grasse, got some good speeds up on this one, lots of great corners, a real tyre screecher, a really long descent after the Verdon and again stunning scenery, you can just make out the road widing around the mountain. No time to stop on this one it was too enjoyable .
BRONZE goes to the D942 off the N75, first a really picturesque gorge then a mixture of fast straights, alpine curves and hair raising drops next to us, loads of Lavender fields filling the air with Lavender. Hardly any other cars, the odd biker, fantastic .

We got plenty of waves, comments etc from both Porsche and non Porsche drivers, Only saw 2 early 911’s though, that was in Paris, a red Targa and a black Coupe cruising around together, it could have almost been me and Alam . Too many Ferrari’s on the Coast, this was the most interesting bit of kit we saw though, on the coastal road just outside of Nice.
