It really is a beauty.
A 1974 US Carrera coupe owned by Steve Silva and restored (superbly) by Freddie Hernandez in California.

It's been a constant inspiration for me as I work toward restoring my car.
I'd love a car like this.

Just my 2d's worth:
Silver finish over black any day for your car.
The black frames scream '80's to me and guards red.

Anodising can be stripped and re-done in clear (which I think is the 'silver' colour used in despatches).

I am sure your finished car will be the equal at least of the Dream/inspirational car pictured!

Ahh, Freddie hernandez, now his threads ARE an inspiration.

Yup, definately black frames on a bright coloured car, silver only suites the dark colours for sure....

Sorry Jonathan, it's silver. Nick has already re-anodised the frames to silver and I've bought new trims, front & rear.

It's a funny thing this silver or black trim..I do think that with all the black rubber trim these early impact cars suited black window trim when in strong bright colours, the contrast is very powerful, with mine in black the silver works as a contrast in reverse...similar to early etypes which work well with chrome wire wheels in bright colours but look better with silver painted wire wheels in darker colours

What doesn't look so good is to have the dark window trim but then silver headlamp rims that's not consistent enough, dark window trim should be matched with dark headlamp trims...so at least with your choice of silver windows, then you have silver headlamp rims which is more balanced
