Nick Moss and the guys at Early 911 are guiding me through the restoration and tackling much of the work.
In conjunction with their efforts are going to be major contributions from many of the UK's Porsche specialists.
We'll see the highest quality work from a veritable roll-call of the nations eminent classic Porsche rebuilders.
Expect input from big names like Redtek, Chesterton's & Southbound, etc.

Blimey, Mike takes over 5 years and after just 2 days I'm being chastised for slow progress....

Well, you know what it's like Jamie, I've got all these photos but it's taking ages in Photoshop to get 'em to looking half decent.
The post-processing takes the time....

OK, here's the car as it was laid up in my garage.
It sat here for quite some time while I took stock and got things underway.

Well I had quite a few boxes to look through Ian, there were parts spread all over the place....

This picture seems to show your RHD under tray. If not refitted by now there would be a few of us willing to buy if you could get copies made. I know this would be a distraction and I would do it myself but I don't have one!, Marek said the lhd ones he made were so difficult to tool up for that the cost of making the few Rhd ones that the market needed would be prohibitive. Any thoughts?
Great thread. Keep it coming.

Mike

Interesting picture of the heater controls Paul, mines a November 74 build, but has 2 levers to operate the heater flaps, yours has the single (early style I believe) version, also your levers do not have any graphics on them, mine have a White lettering and symbols
Looking forward to more...

Mine's a late 73 build 74 car and is the same as Paul's. I've had a 75 S which had the two levers you describe.

Sorry Mike, what your seeing is just a cheapo Dansk floor repair section. The guy before felt a few patches was all it needed, I inherited those panels but didn't use them.
I don't believe I've got an 'under tray', I have the simple protection plate but I'm guessing that isn't the part you speak of.

Yes, whilst it's an IB car, apart from the bumpers, pretty much everything is very familiar to a '73 owner. It also has the early dash top (with no centre vent).
I'd imagine that although yours was built in 1974 it's a 1975 model year car?

Hi Paul
Yup it is
I have the same early style dash, single perforated removable speaker grill on top
No centre vent in the dash, that came in with either the Carrera 3.0 or SC
But I do have the small black plastic vertical rotating grilles at the 2 ends of the fascia panel..do you...?
But being an original chrome finish car my window surrounds, and the trim around the radio are all chrome, not black
Is the lock for your glove compartment in the centre or off to one side..?
