Well I have spoke to Ian Evans who is one of the organisers of the Volksfling event at Biggar and as Alex said in his post they would welcome our presents at their event. He said that they would rope of an area of the field for us and not charge us entry. So after speaking to Mike (210bhp) we have decided that the meeting point on the Friday will be Volksfing. This is a really ideal spot as people can arrive at different times during the early afternoon and spend their time looking at a load of cool VW cars and vans. Biggar is only 11 miles of the M74 Junction 13 (Abington) and we would be approximately 1.5 hours from Killin. It would be our plan to leave Biggar no later than 6pm.

Great idea guys. It makes arrival time much more flexible for people travelling from "down Sarffff". Its a lot easier for those of us based in the north. Only 6 weeks, 4 days, 6 hours etc etc etc etc.

Tom - I'm sorry - my head's been buried for a while - YES - still hoping the DDK southern chapter will be making a stop over at mine :-)

Can we get a show of hands and Mrs T and I'll start working out where to put you all

Plan is to have a bring your own BBQ and beer, hopefully joined by a couple of the DDK Northern Crew as a trial run for Scotland :drunken:

So who's crashing at ours?

Between Harrogate and Skipton so about 15 miles north of Leeds - we'll probably head up the A1 to meet up with James and then take the A66 accross to the M6 and on up....

The journey time from North Yorkshire to Biggar ( the suggested meeting place ) is around 3 hrs if using the A66 & M6.

we could allow for an extra 30 minutes on the journey & go cross country to the M6 via Wensleydale & the Ribblehead viaduct.

I think this will be a nice beginning to the Friday if the weather is fine.

How many will be travelling from North Yorkshire ?

if you don't goto Biggar, then you just carry on up the Motorway .

All depends on what time we leave North Yorkshire. If we leave circa 9am then you should be fine.
