Another day in Visualfx's workshop finishing off my carpets and helping with various other bits and pieces. I did discover that driving Garry's other machine isn't as easy as it looks:

![Image](http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z386/darrentompkins/Picture-2514_zpsef286621.jpg)
…..then realised it was the first time my cars had 'met!'……

….not good to wish your life away but I am ssooo looking forward to next summer!
Cheers,

I fixed the throttle linkage. Test drive to work tomorrow as I'm currently pi55ed
One of these options must be right:
![Image](https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5564/14960135396_0418cbb138_z.jpg)
Micks were slightly too big, guess they are from the gearbox pivot rather than the carb one, Andy's looked the right size but the quadrant was an MFI one and I didn't want to press the bushes out... So luckily the ones MDR recommended from simply bearings were spot on the right size.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

The rears went in easily, the fronts needed a bit more trimming

Stuck the paragliding wing in the back (it fits), drove to the lift…. went for a fly…. then went for a little blast afterwards.

Managed to get both headlights to fit (sort of...), and connected up heated windscreen (sort of...).
A 'sort of' kind of day all round, really.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Drove the 914/6 to Lincolnshire on Thursday, and had a pub dinner with several Porsche hillclimbers, then on Friday visited the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ , where they pulled this out for us to see -
![Image](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/jwhillracer/IMG_0195_zps2da7fb10.jpg)
It was pretty noisy inside when they started all 4 Merlins.......
![Image](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/jwhillracer/IMG_0234_zpsa48b2690.jpg)
Tail-end Charlie's "office"
![Image](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/jwhillracer/IMG_0253_zps000529da.jpg)
We all carry a full set of spare engines - don't we?
![Image](http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn99/jwhillracer/IMG_0266_zps391e0b15.jpg)
Sobering bit was seeing the 2 large plaques in the Chapel listing the airmen lost from just 2 Squadrons at that fairly small station.........
Then had a great drive back to Somerset along the Fosse way, missing all of the Bank Holiday traffic parked on the motorways!
Cheers!
