Removed the Sachs heavy duty clutch on the 3.2 today,
one of the 3 supporting straps on the pressure plate failed.
Probably lasted 30 miles.

Just home after an enjoyable day around some twisty Norfolk roads and taking in a few sites on the way

Yep, I had one snap last year, replaced with this one in august 2023.
The strap here has bucked due to one of the rivets bending over in the alum cover, poor weak design. imho.
Going to call Helix tomorrow.

Cheers JW - just nicked another win today but had an off on the last run, narrowly missed the pit wall….

Good safe. Did it give you any warning before the backend slipped out?

Not really Neil. The slicks are reasonably progressive in terms of letting you know what is going on, but the risk with a Boxster is that they grip and grip until they don’t any more, and then it is like a spinning top and very difficult to catch. That corner has a pretty evil camber which just accelerated the breakaway point, and I was flat from mid corner going for broke on the last run of the day, so those two factors were the cause. User error!

If the tyres aren’t just about to let go, then you’re not going fast enough!

Went to sports cars in the park on Sunday at Newby Hall. Lots of great cars of all sorts and sizes to look at. Someone took a nice photo of me leaving

good photo Jonny. I was meant to be going just as a visitor but reports from every where of traffic chaos and 2.5hr queues stopped me .
