A vote for gunmetal, looks fabulous and really seems to suit the car. As for colour matching, no problem for someone who knows what they're doing!
Would you really feel comfortable driving around in a yellow E Type?

...ironic....I spend a lifetime thinking of a black E-Type...to buy a black E-Type...that's turns out to have been white...and now I am even edging to paint it white....

Not keen on the chrome wire wheels...wonder what it would be like with painted silver ones....

Call CMC in Bridgnorth and ask them what is marketable?
Suspect factory colour will win?

Will be up at the NEC Classic Car show in 2 weeks, will have a chat with Clayton Classics who do lovely Jaguars..so far any conversations about colour change don't seem to affect value, same as a RHD conversion...unlike Porsches.....mine is early but not one of the flat floor or outside bonnet lock cars so perhaps not so affected by that level of sticking to original

so now we are actually in real time its time for another update, as the car went to Envirostrip on November 11th, and it was returned a week ago, since when its had a coat of epoxy primer sprayed where the tub panels are good and can be left alone, leaving bare metal for where Barry will commence battle

the whole strip process is new to me and like many others I was sceptical about the results....but all I can say is Envirostrip were very professional in their approach and the car was returned damage free and spotlessly clean....and although the bare metal does obviously hide absolutely nothing the car looks better for being in a single tone

(yup, that is a whole E Type, bonnet I parts, and with most components slipped inside the tub its a relatively small footprint....

last weekend was nice and dry so after lifting the tub between the two of us up onto one of the garden benches, my son and I started with a decent scotchbrite rub down and then set to with a 1.8mm nozzled spray gun and the best part of 1.5 litres of primer













so this weekend I am going to work on the bonnet panels.....the OCD treatment is set to increase a level further....
