I know that road. I very nearly dropped my 2.7 Carrera off the edge of it once. The little marker posts are surprisingly solid.

Well, that was another lovely couple of days in great company (cars and people!), super roads and fabulous spring weather. Unfortunately one of the group had to take off early due to an emergency at home but made it to the first destination.
Was great to meet up with Rob and his fabulous new steed. Thanks for the opportunity to drive it - glad I gave it back when I did as I was tempted to make a run for it!! What a car .... the handling and brakes are simply astonishing and that engine

. Had to recalibrate after driving my car as it was so quick and I have to say the gearbox suits it very well. I don't think I could shift fast enough with a manual box. Was great that you could join us for lunch.
Weather was near perfect with only the slightest patch of grey clouds and light rain. Most of it was beautiful spring weather as it should be in March. Drove past a couple of DDK folk in Snowdonia (hello Russ!) but generally the roads were very empty which meant we were able to enjoy them! If you are thinking of making a trip, I can really recommend spring.
I drove back from mid Wales on my own and took the opportunity to do some exploring. I had been searching for a road I had driven 20 years ago. Could possibly be my favourite road of the trip and perhaps in Wales and the funny thing is it starts about 10 mins from where I always stop for lunch! It is quite special - great scenery (if a bit blurry), huge elevation changes (grounded my car at the bottom of one of the compressions!), twisty and I didn't see a car for 20 mins

.
Every time I go to Wales, I fall in love with the place and my car again. I really can't think of anything I would be rather driving on these roads than an early 911! Already planning my next visit.

.....I thought of you guys on more than one occasion last Friday as I hunted down rare parts and trailered, loaded/unloaded old Porsche's around the Country. Fantastic weather and looks like another incredible trip!.....new found road sounds a 'must drive!'
Still a fun day for me but would much rather have been in Wales on Fri/Sat and Goodwood Sunday.....
....note to self......never miss Feroz's Day Off again....
.....ever!

A great couple of days driving the best roads in Wales.
Not one but two first 500 series 2.7RS's, a 993RS, a stunning 76 Martini Turbo tribute, a 2.4E, my Mongrel with the quickest car out of the bunch being a very lively 2.2E.....especially with Feroz behind the wheel!
.....great company, superb food and accommodation, excellent routes and roads, some enthusiastic driving and all perfectly organised by Feroz. Huge thanks

......
....the weather was more than kind and even the late Tuesday afternoon rain didn't dampen anyone's enthusiasm....or slow our progress!.....
I think this thread needs to be moved back to the Future Events section.......hopefully they'll be plenty more 'Feroz's Days Off' to enjoy in the years to come!
Cheers,

Great pics Darren and what a lovely bunch of cars. All very lovely and I would be happy to have any of them in my garage!
Thanks for the company as ever. Will try and arrange warmer weather for the next trip.

Trip was OK, company & cars average, routes so-so. Nothing to see in Wales, don't go. It's rubbish.
Same pics, different angles...
