DDK Scottish Highland Tour - 22/25 August 2014

As my better half is reluctant to leave the little monster... I mean little one with the grand parents for a long weekend I will be coming along on my tod.

If the trip is going to be a couples shin dig I may have to just focus on the CLMS trip

Anyone not taking their better halves?

The base venue is highly geared towards children. Lots to do (depending on age) at the site and if the weather is not so good the lodges are fully equipped with everything you might have a home. Why not suggest bringing the little monster AND your grandparents and let them make a holiday of it while you have a blast round the Highlands in your car on some fantastic roads. Unfortunately if we get fully booked then its unlikely that we will have space for babysitters at the DDK evening events and meals but the lodges have full kitchens, and there are always the local hotels and shops/cafes as an alternative. Means you can fully enjoy the evenings entertainment and bar with your better half just a few yards to walk 'home' to your little one (and built in babysitters!!).

This is all depending on numbers (you might also be sharing a lodge with another couple), so no promises but if you get your booking in first................

Don't worry Andy, it's more than likely I will there alone. But just in case.......

One of the best crews last time was Mike Usiskin his wife and two little girls who rode shotgun in the back of his now sadly stolen 2.4E. The two girls had a ball at the lodges and were heard to shout 'faster daddy faster' from their 'stadium' rear child seats on each day. I'm sure it was a great family event for them.

No roof, no heating, no luggage space: Not for her, no way!

Furthermore my better half (or rather: the female side of me) has Cystic Fibrosis, so a trip in the Speedster might actually kill her (and that's no joke)...

I would love to bring them and they would have a great time. Only problem is I would have to cut the welded in cage out of my car and try and fit some seats!! It is why I have been looking for another early car with some back seats for what feels like ages ........

If you know anyone who has a nice one for sale, do let me know! Or if anyone based in Scotland wants to lend me one for the weekend, that works too.

Well... My Speedster has only 3 knobs, so there can be only 3 questions
And I have a km-speedometer, so 100 isn't that hard...

Hey, that's my navigator youre talking about! He was very successful at guiding me up and down the hill at headingham I would never have found my way without him!
