I think most people install the engine from the underneath and the right way around

That method is overrated. Time for something new

A good weekend resulted in the front brakes fitted up ready to take fluid.
Only Ooops was getting the wrong brake pad clips ! I needed "A" caliper ones !

Thanks Bert. Scarily, I have already offered my tea making and gofering services. Shame I'm not that technical (with cars).

Thanks Ben, Look forward to seeing it Thursday

This weekend, it was finishing the front brakes (Pad clips) and re-attaching the ARB, now done.
The front wings came off and were re-fitted with seam sealant, the wing to scuttle seals (Yes Ben, there's two bolts accessed with the door open, and a long reach socket !!) With the wings on, I can now fit up the horn grills, head lamps, indicators and make it look like a car again !!
Trim wise, I've got the Targa top mostly re-covered, The internal webbing (The tricky bit as you have to ensure the top is square on the car), and foam padding at least. The Vinyl cover is set to go on this evening.
Still far too much to do !
Pictures ? Well, I could have taken a picture of the car with wings on, and a car with wings on ! You can guess which is before and after !!
.. and in my spare time I took part in a freestyle Kiteboard event, a Buggy race and went camping !!
Tim (Back at work for a rest !!)

Mostly electrical work this weekend. Some dash board switches, but the main impact is at the front end. ...
From This...
To This

It's starting to look like a car !
Not long now though!!

More electrickery !
From spaghetti like this ..

to some thing more like a car !!

A long weekend's work, but rewarding. Delightfully Porsche made some changes to the wiring between '69 and '79. A bit subtle too some of it !! The only way to get the horn to work was to short out the RH Indicator !!
But eventually I got it all sorted
I have not got rid of all of the birds nest, but at least all this goes back to somewhere !!

But it does seem that I need a Y piece to join the pipes under the bonnet !!
Any one ?

I still have a long way to go, but at least I feel like I'm getting somewhere.

hi Tim
looking better every time
just been out to my car and there's no Y piece as such, I think you should have another connector on the inside face of the air box, so one flexi goes to the front on the one we can see in the picture and the other on the back
don't know if that makes sense !

Go on Tim!
You know you can do it!
This is a shocking picture of my car during one of it's rebuilds:
Looks like you have an extra hose in there?
Is this part of the later car's face vent system?... and an early heater box?

Yes, the extra pipe goes to the centre vent
What I have is an early fan motor bolted to the later fan box. There is nowhere on the box to put the pipe as per JP's suggestion.
I think I'll just bypass the centre vent, just pipework direct from the heater box to the passenger footwell air control.
