Theres going to be quite a few good hot rods around next year that all get driven like they were stolen!

Think we need a big euro hot rod meet (all original cars banned   )

Sounds like a GB RGruppe to me, I'm subscribed for this!

Could be a sub-set to the SPA Summer Invasion of 2015?

I had tyres fitted today.....thought about waiting until after Christmas in case things went wrong but couldn't help myself...

....no need to worry, the local guys were especially careful and invited me to watch....

Image

....the rears sure do look wide in comparison to the fronts....I might be taking a lump hammer to my flares if these don't fit :? ....

....now I know why I was asked!

Recently I'd been chatting to Marek Lappok about the breather pipe needed on my 100 litre tank as well what fuel filler I intended to use.

For those of you who don't know Marek, he makes some pretty fantastic early Porsche parts, he's helped me with interior trim, engine grill, oil tanks etc etc......in fact, if you've purchased any Porsche part from the various Porsche specialist suppliers around Europe, or indeed Porsche themselves, there's a good chance you have a part that originated from Marek (early911 parts on DDK or early911parts@gmail.com).....

....when Marek let me know he had an initial production batch of five 100 litres he was taking to Essen, I jumped in a van and made the trip out there to grab one.....a superb reproduction that couldn't be missed....

....hence the conversation about breather pipes and fuel fillers......when Marek let me know my plans wouldn't work he told me not to worry as he knew of a perfect solution and that Father Christmas might be kind to me...

...whilst I was out getting tyres fitted this arrived....

Image

...Marek's under the hood fuel filler incorporates a neat breather which will look excelllent when welded in place 8) ....

Many thanks for the much appreciated Christmas present Marek, as ever a superb product....it's going to make that fuel tank and under the hood look pretty neat! 8)

Cheers,

....well this isn't the finished article, it'll take a good day to fit and gap the panels properly and obviously the bumpers require a fair bit of work however we thought we'd chuck the outer panels on today and see what the shell looked like out in the sunshine....
