Looking great Darren, I bet all the hassle and stress a project like this must have on you seems all worth while when you have a painted shell that looks that good.

oh and by the way I think you might have a problem...... how many lovely wheels can one man need!

Travelled up to Birmingham on Thursday to Genius of the Lamp.... http://www.geniusofthelamp.co.uk ...and collect my CibiƩ Biodes that have been refurbished.

Raj and Kam are great guys with a very talented team. They took what looked like this....

Image

....and turned them into this! 8) .....

They're not 100% correct in that the rears should have a copper coloured finish like the original Marchal Amplilux lamps in the background.....Raj explained that originally the lamps would have been aluminised and then copper lacquered to protect this, apparently a hugely expensive process that wouldn't be viable for single items. Instead these lamps have been copper and then silver plated. Obviously no one would know once the lamps are fitted and they don't need any further protection however we'll give the rears a copper coloured finish to match NOS items.

Not the cheapest refurbishment which I doubt you could justify on standard lamps but worth it on a set of rare Biodes....

....just the buckets to refurb now and then I need to decide whether I like the look of the Biodes or Amplilux best.

Cheers,
