That's all induction noise from the Webers. Noise test at 4000rpm showed exactly 100db.

sounds brilliant, what engine set up do you have in there? I am thinking of getting the type4 in my 912E uprated, likely Weber 44IDF's 96x71s and a better cam.

71mm AA forged crank and H-beam rods, 96mm AA Biral cylinders, JE forged pistons, reworked 1.8 heads with 42 x 38 valves, Webcam 86a camshaft, dual 44 IDF Webers, SSI heater/headers, Vintage Speed S/S silencer. Makes 130bhp. Very drivable combination and simple to do. My plans were to build a bigger engine (82 x 96), but am now inclined to change the cam and heads, and bump the compression.

Bit like my set-up. The parts are cheaper than P parts and quite a few places can build them

They look really great - what size did you go for and what's the finish?

Only for hillclimbs - they're 6 x 15 with 195/55 x 15 Toyo Proxes R888R. Silver painted centres with diamond-cut rims. I'll retain the TTs with Dunlops for the road.
