Been a long while since I updated this thread, thought it was about time I provided a progress report.

Glad to say the main build is progressing rather nicely. Running gear, brake, fuel and oil systems all plumbed in. Electrics are done and most of the interior is in the car.

I am due to make my first visit to see the car in the last 4 months in the next few days, so will post a few pictures later this week.

Wheels have now been finished 7r and 6rs, fairly plain I have gone for the un painted finish.
A few pictures of the original wheels and then when they had been stripped and polished and finally once anodized.

I took a trip to see progress on the rebuild this week, Gary has made great progress, 90% of the shell is built. Headlights, and doors need to be built up and a few finishing touches. The car will then go into storage until the engine is built.

So a few updates, the interior is a key area of any build. My preference has always been to try and retain as much originality as possible when putting the interior together, which when trying to combine original parts unrestored with new can be a challenge....hopefully the balance in the interior is just about right.

I was lucky enough to inherit a cool set of scheel seats together with the lightweight hardware to install them when I bought the project a few yrs ago. For those of you that are familiar with my previous project (67S) you will know the lengths I previously went to to try and replicate patina on a previous set of retrimmed corderoy covered seats. Glad to say this time my Scheel seats didnt need as much work. The first seat is an original 330 Scheel sport seat, with all original corderoy and vinyl, the plan for this seat was to reform and retain all the trim. The corderoy was then steam cleaned. This will be the drivers seat.
The 2nd seat is a later Scheel 300 which had it's original corderoy but had been revinyled at some point. The french stitch which had been used was I believe incorrect so the plan for this seat was to retain the corderoy and replace the vinyl and assemble using a std stitch.

Pleased to see both seats looking so good installed in the car.

Seats together, quite surprising the difference between the two. The 330 is much smaller Image
