Where did you get your carbon engine lid from?
The simple things you see are all complicated

I got it from Mr Moss. I thought you had one too ? It's very light.
I'd originally fitted a Fenn Lane item which was very well made, but didn't fit around the rear wings. Fenn Lane refunded it immediately. The car has a Fenn Lane front bumper too.

Be worth it when you get there. Better to sort now than let it eat it's way further.

Wasn't a cheap item, but for the extra £150 over the GRP lid it was probably worth it. Now I'm looking at a major restoration, £150 is really neither here nor there.
PS - Now all the nasty stuff has been found (including the floor edges it seems too) Nick has promised to send some more "positive" pictures of stuff being put right.

Hi Sam
The 2.2 had floor issues because of a leaking sunroof, and rot around the roof pillars because of the sunroof drain tubes, so probably a bigger job all in all.
I'm just grateful for the rise in prices so if I end up having to sell the Carrera I stand a chance of breaking even. Plus, it'll be a totally sorted body once Nick's finished...and no bloody sunroof.

So the conversation a month ago went like this...
Ian: should I be expecting any more surprises ?
Nick: there's not much left of the car we haven't had to replace, so nothing really left to rust.
Apart from the heater tubes, it would seem:

Thanks ! I'm trying to stay positive - keep reminding myself that at least the whole car is now getting sorted.

Well, there might not be much metal left on my car, but thanks to Darren and Garry I've got some swanky new sports seats. Just need a car to put them in...hopefully before the sun stops shining.

Looking forward to seeing the finished car, all the financial agony will soon be forgotten when you take it out for a drive.
I for one am pleased to see these cars restored properly and all the old bodges sorted. It will be fantastic when it's finished, hang in there!

Hi All,
It's been a while, and I'm still waiting for Prof Moss to find the photos he took of the new panels going on. In the meantime, here's a 68 aluminium window frame I plan to fit. Just got to find one for the LHS now !
